Default It is normal to have a wheel damage.

It is normal to have a wheel damage when low profile tires are mounted.

Do they look normal to you?

SpeedTech Auto in Scarbrough says so.

Just like it happend to my brand new 17" wheels, it will happen to you brand new wheels.

for 16's or larger sometimes if the shop dont know what they are doing.

15's hardly happen. that's why u get 15's when it comes to expensive wheels. if they get damage u can sue the shop who did it.

Oh hell no, they are bs'in you. If they know what they are doing you wouldn't. Think about it. How many show cars have scratched rims?

I must have missed something because I don't get the point of this thread, nor do I actually see anything in those pics.

A little help here please?

Are those pieces of your wheel after having tires mounted or something?

If so, I can tell you that I work at a shop and we do tires in addition to all Honda/Acura maintenance, swaps, etc. We have brand new Hunter machines that utililize all coated surfaces that come into contact with the wheels.

I immediately began mounting tires after one walk through from the Hunter guy and I have not damages a single wheel yet. I have mounted about 15 sets of new tires onto new rotas, balanced them, etc. and not a single wheel scratched.

Problem is that most guys don't give 2 ***** about it, and they are in such a hurry that your wheels aren't a concern as much as speed in mounting is.

More info! Need better pics too!

depends on what kind kind of place you took it to i work at a wheel a tire shop that kind of thing doesn't happen at my shop but we are a custom wheel store. that's where it should have been taken. the machine that they were working on may have not had the capabilities clamp the rim from the outside. but next time research the palce where you take your stuff like they said before not every body cares

that's the inside lip area of the wheel. theres prolly six spots of six little holes going around the wheel. mine are the same and i have new mugens. you can fix that by scraping the rough spots off w/ something sharp, and then find a color that is similar, and paint the tiny spots.
i do agree that there should'nt be that kind of damage, but believe me, nobody will notice whats going on inside your wheels.

Good luck going to SpeedTech Auto, you may but stuffs there cheap but not let them work on your cars.

Thats just the way they use the tire mounting machine, they should have known not to clamp the iinside of some new aftermarket rims, just my opinion.
