i'm just starting to get into cars since i bought a 96 civic ex with some mods already done to it, but i don't know if the parts that are in it are good, average, or poor. since i'm new to this, i don't really know what names are brands and what numbers are model numbers, so i have included all the print i can see on some of the parts.

i have a couple more questions to add....what do the sway and tie bars do? what difference will i notice in driving if i change them. also, what does changing the adjustments on the struts do? i change the front from 1 to4 and the rear from 8 to 1 and didn't notice a difference.

The sway and tie bars help stiffen the ride during cornering, and of course, different manufacturers have different qualities.
Changing the struts like you did change the cornering characteristics as well. That should change how stiff or how "not stiff" the ride is.

the front shocks were on 1(which is the softest setting) and you changed it to the hardest setting. but in the back it was on 8 and you changed it to the softest setting? are they 8 way or 16 or what? im sure 4 in the front and 8 in the back is good. but you need to be worried about the appearance of that civic, but hey to each his own.

Roger that
If your rims were 1 inch bigger, tires were meaty-er(haha), and your car was all black insted of the two tone and vinly job, it would look decent

for the record, i like the two-tone and its all paint, no vinyl
it definately needs larger rims, but that comes after the turbo kit.

Re: (jew)
The size of your wheels is fine. Its the wheels themselves that need changing.
Just a note... The vis hoods have been known to rub on the the valve-cover of B-series swapped civics (if ever you planned on doing one).

The exhaust is too big. 3" is better suited for turbo motors or a race motor. So unless you plan to install a turbo i suggest getting a 2.25" exhaust or the standard 66mm (~2.38) exhaust.
A better suited exhaust will have better flow.

I think 5k is a good price for this. at least in germany it would be a great price.
The only things i would change are:
-not fitting front bumper
- sway bar
and lower tie

Good to see you have your priorties in order And with only 14k miles you got a good deal at 5000.

I have a VIS hood and a B-series swap and dont have any problems with the hood rubbing.

the only reason i was willing to pay that is because the engine and tranny only have 14k miles on them.</TD></TR></TABLE>
and you know this because....?
leave the parts along its better than nothing. remove your vinyl thats the first thing you should do
