Noob Alert!!
Hey i have a 2000 civic ex.. i've just started to get into the performance side of imports (yes i am rice, i got pics to make you guys laugh), but anyway i really don't know much and i was just wondering... what is eg and ek? Well i've decided even though my civic is super slow and turbo charging most likely make my car almost as fast as many stock american cars, i'll do it anyway =D going to school and working at the same time sucks, but it'll be worth it to pretend i have an all around ok car hehehe.... to my little d16y8, i hope i don't blow it one day running 12psi trying to hit low 13's or something hehe..... thx... i'm so n00b... pls help lolz
Oh yes, my little ricer is at http://www.angelfire.com/sk3/skhonda/index.html

Re: Noob Alert!! (skhonda)
Not really my style, but on the other hand I've seen hella worse. At least it's clean and pretty coherently executed, and that's a really nice looking paint job.
Now slap a turbo on that bitch and give it some go to match the show!!

hehe yeah, it'sa 6th gen.
anyway, i'll try to answer your question about eg and ek... (please correct me if i'm wrong)
an "eg" is the chassis code for 92-96 civics (aka 5th generation civics)
an "ek" is the chassis code for 97-00 jdm civics (aka 6th generation civics) (sidenote: the chassis code for 97-00 american hondas is "ej")
to find out more information about your car, decode your vin number here: http://www.performancesupply.com/vin.htm
hope it helps

Re: Noob Alert!! (skhonda)
i really don't think your car is ricey.. maybe i need to look at it again... it is definately not my cup of tea.... but really not that bad... i personaly would lose the white rims..... but all in all not too bad (for like a showy non performance oriented car) i'd have to say.. ive seen a lot worse.. and im not a big fan of mesh, but when the openings are big like that, i think it looks even worse without meash..
really not too too bad..
**edit*** i think your tail lights are ghey... stock IMO is much nicer..

ur 19 so i figure ur a sophmore in college..so getting ur parent s to spring for upgrades is out of the question..since this is ur only means of transportation id just make sure its kept up well..dont spend anymore money..save and save..after college ull have all the time and money to fiddle with ur car/cars...plan of attace:
1. school
2. work if u can

and 2 tours of Nam
5. get a good job..get a nice car
6. mod ur car to ur deisres or save some more for a house
7. marry woman that can cook and live happily ever after

Re: Noob Alert!!
Hey thanks for all the replies, i appreciate it... yes i'm 19 and going to school full time as well as telemarketing part time 25-30hrs a week... i know you guys are against body kits and stuff and that's cool, i'm totally into the clean look now, but the kit is on, lolz...
Having a kit is nice however because of the fact i live in iowa and that i only know of 5 cars that have one in my city, (100k+ people). There is no scene period, in iowa haha. I agree the bug catcher (mesh) is quite ugly, however when i'm boosted the apex-i GT intercooler should fit easily into the blitz bumper.
By next spring my little sohc will be boosted comfortably at 8psi, and i will be done with that... i'll just use it as a daily driver... my next project i think will be a (i know everyone's done this, but i haven't so screw it ^_^; turbo or all motor gsr. I suppose i have plenty of time to decide...
Oh yeah quick update to my car, i took those ******* altezzas off today, basically i saw my 50th eclipse with super rice altezzas and i turned to my friend and said, "that's it, those things are coming off."
Downside - there goes a hundred bucks; i can always ebay it right? ^_^;;
Upside - less rice, and replaced my burnt out brake light bulb!
