Because we all don't like to read too much, let me cut straight to the point...

i need a new daily driver...

i want a car with a good look, great daily driving ability, and a little kick...

my conclusion.... 99-00 civic si.....yes, i hopped on2 the band wagon, a little late i might add.

my point is: 1.) what should i be looking for when test driving one of these vehicles?
2.) typical price i should shoot for when buying one with about 40-60,k miles.? (dealer and private owner)
3.) anything else useful i should know?

all responses highly appreciated
3.)

you would probaly get alot better of a responce if you went into the 92-00 civic / del sol forum being you wanna buy a "2000 civic si" and not a crx...

for example:
if you aske me i would say buy a crx... if you ask them in the 92-00 civic / del sol forum some would say 92-95 civic hatch or del sol... some would say 00 civic si...

welcome to h-t

i would say not to get a SI. Those get stolen like its nobody's business, especially since u want it to be a daily driver. Just get a civic with a SOHC vtec. Thats enough for daily driver plus great gas mileage.

i love my em1.

make sure everything works, since its all power. (windows, sunroof, locks, cruise, etc.)
make sure the engine is actually a b16a2, if not, it aint an si
kelly blue book said my 99 si should be $11,300, or somethin around there with 70k mi..... i got it for 8g, and most people (i think) got it for around the same price, atleast thats what i've gathered

thats all i can think of right now, hope that helped

My 1995 EJ1 gets great mileage, nice horses, mines all power, 4-disc brakes, ABS, great stereo and not to many get stolen. i had a friend who had a Si he beats me in races...but his car has almost been stolen twice and most of the features he has, I have to. Stick with the D16 VTEC...great bang for its buck!

Thanks 4 all the responses..sorry for poppin this in the wrong forum..lol...

um....the car being stolen, i'm not worried about (i have garage parking at school, and at home)...

i've also been considering EX's....and i'd love a hatch, but they're damn near impossible 2 find around me *illinois-chicagoland area*....

the prices here are around 10-15, with about 50-60,k miles...i wish i could get 1 for 8 grand..ha ha
