No spark on my EG si
I went out to start my car today and it wont start. The engine turns over and sounds like its gonna go, but it just never goes. I took out the plug wire and looked to see if there was any spark when i tried to crank the engine over and there was no arch. My friend said to try and tap the Main relay and couple times and try it again. It started one time rigth then, but after that it wouldnt start again. Do u think its my main relay that went out on me?. i hear its a common problem with EG's and i just got mine like 2 weeks ago.
Thanks for your help guys...

if tapping the main rellay made the car start that would be a good place to start. I have also seen the coil pack in the distributor go bad. But the main relay is an easy part to change and to to much$$$.

Re: No spark on my EG si (Relic1)
Yeah I had a problem just like lv6l had. My EF Civic with an EG motor wouldnt start and I had no spark. It was the ignitor which is inside the distributor. I swapped the ignitor from another distributor in and tried it and wham! started up first turn. Ignitors were listed at like 80 dollars at my local autoparts store, so if you have an extra distributor around, or a friend has one swap that one on and see if that does it. Good Luck!
