2001blackcivic

I changed the gauges in my 2001 civic to just some white outs. When I changed them I unhooked the guages completly. Now I have everything hooked back up but my odometer and speedometer do not work. I have double and even triple checked everything to make sure I hooked everything back up and still no odometer or speedometer. Everything else works, tach, gas guage, cc, everything.
Is there something I have to reset? Any ideas?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Speedometer cable. If the 2001's have one that is. It is a cable that has a square drive pin inside the connector. Push it into the back of the cluster and twist to lock it down.

Is there enough clearance between the overlays and the needles? They may be touching each other. It doesn't take much pressure to keep the needles from moving.

mine dont work as well....i did a d16y8 swap into my eg cuz i needed to replace it for cheap just to get around..everything else works except my speedometer and odometer...i did not play around with the guages or anything..just did a regular swap...need help..
