no heater 2000 civic si
a little while ago the heater went out in my em1.. i checked my lower rad hose and it wouldnt get warm with the car so i replaced the thermostat, and bled the coolant, now the lower rad hose gets warm with the car but still no heat. been about 6k miles since then and since winter is coming i need some suggestions. i'm pretty positive it's not a hg, no milky oil and its ran just fine for the past 6k miles. i was thinking heater core but wouldnt i be leaking antifreeze into my car if the heater core was bad? any suggestions are much appreciated

Also check to make sure your heater valve is able to open and close freely
while you are there make sure both your heater hoses are hot, if both are you may have a blend door issue with the ventilation system. If one is hot and the other not your heater core may be clogged.

I'm having the same exact problem on my 2002 Si. The heater control valve works fine, the car takes maybe 4 minutes to warm up to operating temperature and doesn't go any hotter, I had the thermostat replaced(original one was shot when I saw the mechanic pull it) and that didn't help anything. I don't have any heat until I spin the engine up to about 4kRPM. This sucks because my defroster doesn't work well and I can barely drive now that it's cold!

I have the right level of coolant in the radiator and reserve, and the thermostat came out in one piece, just one very long, very stuck-open piece. I'm really stumped on this one.

It's really hard to address two different vehicles in the same topic. There are enough differences with a 2002 Civic and a 2000 Civic that the 2002 Civic warrants its own, separate topic dedicated to trouble shooting the lack of heater function.
As far as the OP's 200 Civic in concerned, manually manipulate the heater control valve to "open" and see if you still don't have heat.

Sorry for thread jacking, but I figured something like troubleshooting a heater issue would be the same but with different methods of actually doing each process.
