Default no header? less power?

alright...i will be getting my brother's k20a3 soon..and i wish to gain more power ..i remember reading lots of forum ..and they said that to gain horsepower you must get RID of BACK PRESSURE..so by taking out the header or exhaust i would gain more power? or will i lose it?

thank you

Keep the exhaust/header. You want a vacuum effect from the header. When one exhaust pulse passes out the tailpipe it should create a vacuum behind it generating less resistance for the next pulse. Think of a semi truck and you are behind it. You will get better gas mileage as a result of drafting. Well, the exhaust gases are doing the same thing if done right. It can get really complicated, but go with a good name brand and ask some questions of people who have items already installed to see how they like them. Yes, it's just piping, but can be complicated. Exhaust gas flow, velocity, etc. Good luck.
