No Gains from DC Header!?

No Gains from DC Header!?
I have a 2000 EX. I installed the DC Sports 4-2-1 ceramic coated 2 piece header about three days ago. Well, I didn't feel any extra power like everyone always raves about... which is ok... but today the idle kept going down way to low - and it sounded like it was trying to cutout. My car usually idles a tad under 1, but now it's dropping down to like .4-.5RPM. I'm guessing I have a leak somewhere (which would explain the lack of extra power) I made sure that all of the bolts were torqued to the proper ftlbs and such. Any ideas or suggestions?

if u also have a hiflow intake also along with the headers ur getting alot more air in..this could be causing a lean burn..switch to a higher octane gas and it should solve the idle problem..also, for best results from a header install..modify the cat. back with 2 1/4 in. piping and a straight thru muffler

Yes, reset the ECU. Here's how.
"After installing a new bolt-on performance part, let the car warm up between 5 and 10 minutes, then turn it off. Find the Back Up fuse (7.5 amps) in the underhood fuse box and remove it for 5 minutes. Replace the fuse, and start the car and let it idle for a few minutes without touching the gas pedal. Turn off the car, restart it, and bone out! This tip, which only works on Honda and other cars with speed-density fuel injection, resets the ECU and allows it to "re-learn" the engine with the new modification in place. Good for a few extra horsepower. (Also works well when racing at a different elevation than usual.)"

If you can't find that fuse, which I never did nor have, you can pull the negative battery cable to get the same effect. You'll just have to reset your radio presets and clock. But this is must for your cars computer to relearn the base level of outputs and inputs from the parts you've just changed or added on. Which headers did you get?? 4-2-1 or 4-1??
And lastly get your car on a clear road and run that bitch up to about 6900rpms and you'll feel some extra pull over 4000rpms.

I have 2.25inch piping with a straight-through muffler,
I run supreme 93+ octane every tank,
I bumped the fuel pressure up (within reason),
I reset the ecu,
I was VERY careful with the O2 sensor...
I appreciate the replies - but no one hapoo poo on it yet...
I don't expect gobs of hp out of a header, but it almost dying at idle is really bothering me.

They are 4-2-1... haha - trust me - i've opened that bitch up - but really didn't feel any difference (alot of times all in your head - or you don't see it till you race someone and are a tad quicker)
I've never heard of flooring it after resetting the ecu... very interesting... what is the theory behind that?
