No CEL but Fuelcut? 25mph in 5th? HELPPP
Well I fixed my car so I can get it on the road. So me and Hans drove it around for like a half and hour nd We brought it back home and we let the car sit for like 20 min. Then i was going to meet him up at work and I drove maybe a whole 2 miles and in 3rd gear my car got like fuel cut like no fuel going to the engine. So I shifted to 4th. no luck and to 5th finally got working but it goes untill it hits 25MPH nd it cuts out agian. So i came to a stop sign and i started to go and it cut out so bad in 1st that i had to start out in 2nd nd it would cut out after like 10mph? then i shifted into 3rd nd it cut out at like 15-17 mph? then i shifted into 4th and it was like 17-21? and then i shifted into 5th and 5th and it cut out at like 25mph ? its wierd b/c it works prefectly fine in neutral. hans thought it was the timing so he messed wityh the dizzy and it helped a little. but still it does it. another on of my friends suggested that i change my fuel pump. I cant tell you the RPM's that its cutting out at but im assuming its close to 1500-2000 rpms. maybe less. No CELS and i tryed changing my fuel filter hans gave me his old one and it stll didnt help. please helpppp

did honda ever make the fuel cut off where if you hit a certain speed it would cut off fuel to the engine?
(certain speed being like 100mph)
Because i know chevy did this with numerous cars where you whent to fast it would shut the car off and you would have to pull over and wait like a min or two to restart the engine

the car pretty much...when it wants to run smooth and rev up and drive normal it does...but outta the blue when you step on the peddle 100% fuel cuts out..completley but then it can be perfect the next minute. no cel. map sensor looks good.
help this kid out!!! he needs to get this problem outta the way so he can build his future jdm ferio

well, it would help to know what kind of car, what the problem was that had it off the streets before, and what mods are done.
if its a stock eg hatch i would say it sounds like the dizzy is going out. or atleast one of the internal components.

its a 92 stock eg8 sedan. d15b7 everything is stock. i just changed the dizzy. no CEL's. it ran fine before me the kid said but I think the fuel pump is bad and maybe the injectors.
