Nitto 555s, comments?
Recently my Flaken ST115 went bald and time to replace, went to a shop and looking for some S-03s since i got some good feedback from friends, saw some AD07 and 048s but the price is way out of range.
At last, S-03 is kinda out of stock in the shop and i will need to go for something else (note the ST115 cant last any more, i will have to change it no matter what, plus next week in going to a track day so i will need a set anyways)
So Im looking at the rack..saw some R1Rs, little expensive..Dunlop DZ101, the owner keep convincing me to go for them but i dont like dunlops at all, have bad experience with SP sport 8000 long time ago ( jst a personal pref tho, doesnt mean dunlops are crap )
End up seeing some Nitto 555 and 555Rs.. price are ok on 555 thread wear 300, i think i can go with it..but since i have no idea how did they perform in track, i would like to know some feedbacks from others. did any of you been trying them before? comments are welcome.

have u tried azenis? for the money they are awesome. But SO3's take the cake for autocrossing. we had a 450 whp S2000 out at the tire rack drifting. and he couldnt even break em loose cause of the SO3's

bump cause id like to know about this tire as well........ and falken azenis, although AWESOME, would be a bad choice for him if hes concerned about tread wear.

I dont know guys, maybe because they're too new. it seems bounce a lot right now.dont have much confidence/***** to break into hard corners as im afraid it wont hold..
p.s. i have nitrogen filled, would go do some hard driving soon to test them.

Re: (ladysman)
ive got the nitto 555 drag radials, i like them. i used them at the track once, got 2 passes on them although i recommend using no less than 30 lbs of air. they arent like regular slicks, they do hook up good though.

had them on my accord. they suck. the wore fast and werent grippy at all. my other friend had nt 450 on his prelude. worst performance tire ever, but they did last long (and bubbled too).
what size are u looking for??

555R's are cool when they're in their first 1/2 of their life. Once you get past the halfway mark and try to heat them up, they don't stick that well anymore.
450's & 555's aren't that great IMO. The 450's are loud and a hard compound. The 555's aren't much better.
Azenis are great, even for daily driving. People say to not drive with them in the rain but if you have decent tread and don't drive crazy in the rain, they drive like any other tire.
SO3's are nice and stick well, but are damn expensive (well for my car they are at $200+ each ). Good track and street tire.
Yoko AVS ES100's (since I see a lot of people getting them, and I have them on my nsx), the tread looks good and they're a great street tire - good in the rain. But if you take a corner too fast, they tend to break loose pretty easily.
There's my quick breakdown for you on some of the tires I've recently used on my cars.

That would be the one I am tuning. It isn't 450whp. More like 300.
When you saw it we had uploaded the new version of AEM but no changes. Because of AEM changes in the latest version, it needs more TLC.
No biggie but he wishes it was turbo. Then it would be 450.

i dont know. went to track for a 3 lap run on sat.
first lap, maybe the tyres are too new.. not that grippy. doing ok on straights. but i dont know where the car is going during corners.
2nd lap. getting better, yay ( was thinking finally ). and nope. the car still bounce a bit during apex and braking.
final lap. well. better then 2nd lap. a bit more grippy. i can actually feel it. but......hell the limit is not that much over the good old Yoko AVS Inter. , which i like them a lot.
hope the tyre can go further on performance push after this week.
