Newest addition to the EG/EH club! *pics* '93 Si
Here she is: My '93 EH3. What should I do first? I have some money left over from selling my Accord and I'm open to suggestions of where to start.
Thanks for looking,
BrewerAccord (need a new name don't I?)

Suspension first was my plan. The car has quite a few miles(183,000), but everything is in superb condition. I'm thinking I'll get the suspension finished and then go for a motor swap. Sound good? But what motor to go with? B16A? B16A2? B18C1? So many choices. Which is easiest to install? Most horsepower per dollar? Any feedback is excellent.

nice HB. its rare to find a untouched si these days. i say SUS first. get a full coilover set-up like Progress group or Apexi. and drop a B18C1. those can be had for less than $3500.

Id do suspension:
1) Full urethane kit
2) Shocks
3) Springs
4) GSR rear LCA + sway bar.
5) Front GSR Stress Bar
6) Camber Kit
No need buying bullnanny for your weak SOHC (no offense please) because you will eventually buy a DOHC VTEC anyway.

Do suspension first (including brakes) and swap later.
Don't buy an intake, just rip out everything under your stock air box and when your air filter gets too dirty, get a K&N.
Is it your daily driver and are you ever going to take it the circuit or auto-x?
Are you planning on drag racing?
How much do you have to spend?

The car is my daily driver, and I would like to do some autox, but drag racing would be fun too. Right now now I have ~$3,000 ready to spend.

Ya Id do suspension..depending on outlay of funds Id go with a top notch Coilover system if ur gonna track ur car; or to go for a spring/shock combo if ur gonna use it on the street. Personally, Id go ITR suspension..go with the LCA's, upgrade the rollbars; then move into Brakes...Id do 5 lug...but its personal preference..i like the look of 5 lug, and the added bonus with breaks.
Then Id move to the engine..If ur gonna stay n/a..go with a 1.8L or 2.0L; go with the B16 if ur gonna go f/i.
hope i helped!!

Hey! That reminds me of my 2 1992 Black Si hatches!
Listen man, I've had all 3 of the most popular B-Series motors - B16A2, B18C1, and the B18C5. My fiancee' has the car on the left with a B16A2 in it, and my old car is on the right - had a B18C1 in it for a year and then I "upgraded" to a 1998 Type R swap.
Get the B18C1! I'm telling you it's the best overall VALUE. In identically prepped cars my old B18C1 was a good deal quicker than my fiancee's B16A2. If you can find a good deal on a B18C5 swap then obviously that's the one to get, but you must be super patient when looking - I got a whole totalled ITR for only $4,000!
Do the suspension and BRAKES as well - maybe even first. Koni yellows are an excellent choice wothout breaking the bank, and then you can have custom springs made by a company here in Atlanta called Carrera I think - they're going to make my 450 fronts and 600 rears for my Koni full coil-overs.
Get Integra rear lower control arms and add a swaybar with a Beak's kit to support your subframe to add some nice stiffness in the rear. Got to fight that understeer!
You can purchase front spindles from an Integra GS-R from a good salvage yard for like $150.00-$200.00 - this will give you bigger calipers and rotors than your stockies, and they are CHEAP to upgrade to 4-pot calipers from WilWood and FastBrakes. Then you can add the FastBrakes 11.4 inch rear rotors with stock caliper relocator brakets to match your 11.0 inch fronts with 4-pot WilWood dynalite calipers!
IM me and I can tell you a TON of cheap upgrades for your Si - I've had 2 thus far, and I'm working on my newest project - 1992 CX - right now.
Congrats!

Hey and by the way, NICE call on the "EH3" part! Gotta love coming correct
It's funny, because my 1992 Si was an EH3 while my fincee's is an EH2. Both are made in the same month and year in Canada too.
Wierd.

i heard it is pretty good.... i am waiting to try that when i get my own eg ....
BTW .. after the suspension gotta buy some good tires to make good use out of the new suspensions

Sorry, but I must disagree with getting a 5-lug conversion.
For the $2,000 that the 5-lug goes for, you could have some bad-*** struts/coil-overs, BIGGER brakes AND even 4-pot calipers if you so choose to. HEll you could still add the swaybar too.
The 5-lug is VERY nice, but in reality other better alternatives can be had to upgrade your suspension, wheels, and brakes.
The ITR wheels are a good 15lbs., where there are PLENTY of aftermarket wheels in the 12-13lb. range for ONLY $400-$500 for all 4 wheels.
Now if you can find a killer deal on a 5-lug conversion because someone's hurting for money or whatever, then go for it. BUT if you're paying the going rate, then I would still just stick with the aftermarket stuff that really is better.
