Newbie Emissions Question (D15B7)
I have a 95 Civic with a D15B7, blown head (severe erosion in coolant channels). I'm considering replacing the whole engine with a JDM D15B. (Over 200K miles on the car, not sure a head alone will be worth the trouble).
The sales rep says that all I need to do to pass emissions is to use the intake & exhaust manifolds and parts from my original engine. I've read all over the web and see many different opinions about JDM engines and emissions concerns.
It seems to me that most folks here know what they are talking about.
What's the advice you would give?

Re: Newbie Emissions Question (D15B7)
What state are you in?
It's usually unnecessary to replace the whole intake manifold. You can just cut a vacuum hose and insert a vacuum T inline, then run vacuum to the purge control solenoid that you get from the junkyard. JDM manifolds lack the vacuum port.
I can't think of any differences with JDM exhaust manifolds that matter.
If you're in CA and getting bar'd, you'll have to ask the tech what he wants you to see.

I'm in Georgia. (sorry - should have included that detail in the original post.) Haven't been able to locate any "official" information yet.
