None.

A real theif has every key and will get the wheels if he wants them. The only thing you can do is slow him down, try a different locking lug on every bolt.

Um... correct me if I'm wrong, but this guy is running external nuts, right? Kind of hard to tell from the pics. If so, how are Spline Drives going to help him? You could probably take them off with a pair of rusty 99-cent pliers. The 'spline' would actually detract from security on these wheels, no? He would want wheel locks with a smooth finish, hard-surface and rounded corners, so you cannot grab hold of them with Vice-Grips or whatever...

I know most people realize that, but I dont think theres one "safest", if you have nice parts on your car, someone will want them. If someone wants them badly enough they will get them. I have wheel locks as well, but what will they do? probably nothing. Just be careful of where you park your car, etc...

Hope your wheels stay safe.

Yep, stick with 'tuner' wheel locks. They'll work the best for you.

I use OEM McGard 'tuner' nuts and they work fine. I got them at my Honda dealer. Honda just repackages them and puts their logo on 'em...

No!

Look, there are two BASIC styles of lug nuts; internal and external. By that, I mean that some lug nuts are completely hidden inside holes in the wheel (internal), while others are sitting in the open, exposed (external).

McGard Spline Drive wheel locks are GREAT if they are sitting down inside a hole, where you can't grab them with Vice-Grips. However, out in the open, they would be simple to remove with any kind of pliers because they have splined bodies; lots of nice sharp edges to grab hold of...

McGard 'tuner' wheel locks are a VERY shallow key design. The outside surface of the wheel lock is hard, smooth, rounded and chrome-plated. It's going to take hella work getting them off, even though they are totally exposed.

I don't know how much simpler I can make this. If your lug nuts are sitting deep down inside holes in your wheels, get McGard Spline Drive wheel locks. If your lug nuts are 'blowing in the breeze', use McGard 'tuner' wheel locks.

Yes, that is what you want if you have external lug nuts...

No problem!

One other thing... It's important to use lug nuts, and wheel locks, that match the seating surface of the wheel. The stock OEM wheels and lug nuts use a spherical shaped seating surface. They are hard as hell to find. That's why I bought mine at the Honda dealer.

Most aftermarket wheels use a conical shaped seating surface, and need lug nuts to match. Make sure you get wheel locks (and lug nuts) whose seating surface matches that of the aftermarket wheels you own.

Ever see the infomercial for the socket wrench that has a bunch of rods in it? Then when you press it on, it forms to whatever shape/size the nut is so you can use it on anything. Theives have it. Your best bet is to keep your car in a garage.
