New OEM Rear Upper Bumper Beam Doesn't fit
Hi all,
I've been a lurker here for a while and have been able to get a lot of help from other people's past threads, but I've finally found one item that I can't seem to find any information on. Either I'm not searching the correct terms or I really have something screwed up.
I have a 1993 Del Sol S with a swapped B18C1. I bought it as a project car from a guy on Craigslist a few years ago and finally got around to getting it on the road. When I bought it, it was missing several pieces and was not assembled correctly.
To get to my point, both the front and rear bumper covers were not attached correctly and the rear upper bumper beam was completely missing. I purchased a brand new one from Majestic Honda (71540-SR2-000). According to all the part catalogs I can find it is supposed to fit, but the studs for holding it on to the body are about two inches off from the holes when the beam is centered on the car.
Has anyone run into this before? Any ideas on how to fix it? Worst case, I can probably drill holes for the studs, but I'd rather assemble it correctly if at all possible.
Thanks in advance.
Jed
