Default New keys :)

Hey!

I have two keys for my EG. One key is bent, and cant be used, and the other one is in generally bad condition. So I was wondering, can I get some blank keys, and just have them copied?I wanted the S2K keys, cos they are cheap and seem strong.

'00-03 S2000 keys aren't any different from other Honda keys with the embedded immobilizer chip. '98-02 Accords and '01-02 Civics used the same key. It'll work in your car, but if you spend $53 to buy it, you'd be a retard. You don't need a key with an immobilizer chip; the keys without them are only like $7.

'04-05 S2000 keys are different (they have a silver part that says "S2000") but are cut differently and will not work in your car.

At least, that's the way it is here in the US.

When did they start putting an immobilizer chip in civic keys?

01 for the Civic. If he has a EG then he doesn't need a chipped key, he could buy a $1.50 key from Honda and be done with it.

Same here. I went to Honda with my VIN and registration and had them make me an extra regular and valet key. Cost me about $10 US

Honda wants 86 USD for a set of new keys. So the S2k key was actually cheap by comp. This is Norway..
