Default New Honda Civic Owner

I bought a new 2003 Honda Civic Ex Coupe Auto. I'm just wondering why I'm not getting the miles per gallon Honda claims I should be getting. The car only has a little over 1000 miles on it. I do both highway and city driving getting 23 mpg, but Honda says I should get 30 city 38 highway. How long does it take before I see these specs. Any suggestions. Oh yeah no mods have been done on the car.... yet!

Thanks

I bought a 2003 Civic LX and it took about 1500-2000 miles for me to see the mileage that was stated by Honda. Now, I'm actually getting better than advertised mileage. You got a good economy car, the mileage will be there, no worries.

Thanks man! My uncle also told me that the computer might make an adjustment at a certain mileage also.
