My b18'd RHD EK
hey guys, im new to this forum but am on plenty of others, ive had 2 vauxhall corsas in the past before moving into the world of hondas. i bought my ek vti about 6 months back looking a little sorry for itself but with lots of potential, over the months ive changed most bits, the most recent addition is the b18c4 bottom end, its currently got my a2 head on and will soon have ek9 cams, ITR pistons and rods and will then be mapped on my apexi ecu, the engine came from a donor eg i bought and split so it cost me nout to do, done all the work myself with no prior knowledge to hondas, just learning as i go.
how it began...
building my engine from the eg
and how she now stands
spec is as follows
B18c4 bottom end
B16a2 head
Ek9 cams, vlave springs and retainers
ITR Pistons and Rods
ITR Inlet and TB
Apexi Fc Ecu
Alloy radiator
S9b LSD gearbox (to be replaced with a s80)
Exedy stage 1 clutch
Lightened flywheel
Comptech 4-2-1 manifold
Spoon N1 backbox and custom centre section
Integra strutbrace
Lowered 40mm front, 50mm rear
262 rear brakes
282 front brakes (legend calipers)
Brake cylinder stopper
Blue DC5 seats on ITR subframes (lower fitting than ek9)
ITR rear bench
Itr gearknow with yellow numbering
4500k HIDS
Carbon spoiler
ek9 rear lip
Mugen front lip
clear side repeaters
EK9 headlights
Facelift rear lights
jdm rear light conversion
luminous yellow resevoir socks
tinted windows
Dohc stickers
Wind deflectors
Yellow foglights
Custom plug cover
Luminous yellow cam cover
Blue lug nuts
Team dynamics pro race 1.2 wheels 16" with toyo px4e's
JVC avx33 with jblspeakers all round
alarmed with a toad alarm with full closure
still to be mapped but torque is greatly improved over the b16 which was RRd at 168bhp. once all done im hoping for around the 200 mark

very nice man overall i think the car looks good. definately in favor of the right hand drive. nice color choice too have not seen to many hondas with a dark shade of blue.

This hatch is amazing! all the right stuff. Lovin the polished **** too. Seats are great...motor is great...also the eg with the 4x114 conversion isn't half bad either.
I just can't get enough of that color. awesome work man; done right. What kinda of numbers do you think you'll be putting down. Also...I can't see it now, but what tranny is that from? I don't recognize the code....not the s80, but the one you have installed at the moment.

yeah man its a stock colour here in the uk, as with the RHD, the tranny (or gearbox as i better know it) is from a 1.8 5 door civic. its LSD but has really long ratios so will be going in favour of the s80. the eg has been split for bits to make my money back on it. im hoping for about 200 when its been mapped, the main advantage i see with the conversion is the difference in low down torque that the b16 lacked

Re: New here, my b18 Ek
so bit of an update since last time, s80 box in! did the flywheel whilst it was out and sat there
Flywheel weight differences
B16 standard
ACT lightweight
Coilies on, greased up to avoid seizing
also repainted the calipers as the were looking a bit shitty. Heat proof black
Sits perfectly now, so happy with them. have them set quite soft at the moment and rides better than springs and shocks. Camber adjusters and set up next!
can't wait to get the cams and pistons in and get it mapped, its already a nippy motor the way it is
