New guy from Italy with 97 Civic - swapping B18 with H22 of Accord
hi guys.
i'm Christian from italy.
i've found your forum because im aslo an owner of honda.
mine is
Honda Civic EK 97.
is an european limited rally edition.
she's born with a 1.6 but i've swapped it with 1.8 intergra engine for a 200HP
now i'm searching to swap it with the h22 of accord 225HP.
the b18 engine is quite good, have only 90.000 km but i want always more power.
i hope to find good party and discussion with people that love to swap the engine because in italy we got very low fans because swap it is illegal.
i hope to stay fine here with you, and do good mutual costructive discussion..
have a nice days man

first off it's an H22, not B22.
personally I'd stick b-series and go with the b18c over an h22 at about the same price
stick with a b series.if you got the money and dont care about swaps...why not a k20

Sorry for my fault about the sigle of.engine.
here in italy is hard to find who swap. And all people whit ive talk about that told me that the h22 is more easy to adapt in a civic hood.
The k20 have too much difference with support.
The k20 have alrady a good hp but is already powered, the h22 have better lower regime and gove me the chance to power up it more than a k20.
Is correct this info?

The K20 will have more potential than the H22. The K series are more advanced engines with higher compression, better engine control and the VTC adjustment helps.
If the swap is illegal, what can you do in Italy? We generally allow any car engine for the year car you have, or newer. SO if you have a 1995, a 1995 and on engine is ok.

Idk me persnally would stay b series, an h22 is heavy and u have to upgrade more stuff then the mounts. Thats the reason you dont want a k right? U dont have to do as much modding as a k but an h you have to mod more for than the b.
Try to get an ls/vtec. If u want more power go turbo. Once you put a new swap in who knows what you would want next. So just go turbo and build the motor, this would beat any swap for the price.

H2B or H2D. Not that much heavier (anyone that says it is is uninformed.) and will drop in the same as a B-series with MORE horsepower and MORE torque. H is also comparable to K in terms of power.

when we buy a car, on the document of it we find an ENGINE CODE, this engine code is the SERIAL NUMBER of the engine that we have under the hood..
not the TYPE... but THE ENGINE... if we broke the engine we can buy another one but must be the SAME.. and after that go to a police station with all documentation, they will inspect the car and modify this SERIAL on our document.
i'll try to search if i spend more with H22 or K20 and i'll try to search if someone in Germany know how to swat a civic with a K20 (and one day... maybe... i'll put a turbo on that ahaha)
last question... a b18 engine with 90.000 KM for how much i can sell it?
with all... transmission elettronic parts, radiator, all..

if its a b18 Type R, youd be crazy to spend the money to swap something else. Just build the b18

yah build the b18c up its probably the b18c4 if your in italy. i would keep that. dont trade for an h22 unless you really want the torque advantage.
