I don't know what will happen yet. The adjusters will be out tomorrow. It was 100% not my fault and her insurance is paying for everything. I even have a rental already. Basically my car slid under the center/side of her stupidburban. oh well. we were all right.

soccer moms with unnecessarily environmentally-unfriendly vehicles who can't f@#king drive
btw, way to look at the bigger picture and see the humor in such a sad situation.

Re: New Grill Mod!!! (YodaIsGod)
Thanks for the support guys!
I got a Saturn L series in a cool silvery blue color. This car is not cool. But it does make me want to go race an Accord on the highway just to see if that commercial is BS or not.
I got them from my CR-V back seats. Too bad they are ugly CR-V material and don't match my interior at all. But hey - it's all about the look
Yeah, they say that they didn't go off because I went under the truck and didn't hit the bumper, but went over it. If I had been going much faster I would have REALY needed them. I don't know about the frame yet. The radiator is wrapped around the engine - so I don't know if the engine was pushed back - it does run tho, I pulled into the parking lot. And obviously the radiator suport is not strait.
So I'm not sure what I want to happen. If they do total it I will miss it. A lot. But if they don't I'll always feel like she's been violated. And on the monitary side won't be worth as much. So I guess it's just up to fate.

What kind of rental car did you get?
Where did you find those headrests?
any real bad frame damage?
I see those airbags did their job!

Ouch! Damn dude, here's to hoping you get lots of money out of this. Is that the exact spot the accident happened in the pics? Looks to me like she made a left turn in front of you from the opposite lane?

****, now with insurance loot you can likely get CTR headlights and a cf hood.
I did that when my acura got in a minor fender bender and the cf hood saved me $120! over a stock hood and getting that stock hood painted. Plus I got used headlights instead of new ones, saved $250 there too..
good luck man! car looked real good before too.

Re: New Grill Mod!!! (owen_the_soyboy)

There was nothing under the hood. Just a Y5.
Basically what happened: I turned right around a corner, and as I did that a truck pulled out from my right, crossed my path, to go into opposite traffic as me. As the truck cleared my lane the suburban lady truned left from opposite traffic. I couldn't see her and she couldn't see me. That is, until I swereved around the truck and she was right there. My car in those pics is right where it happened. It was right in front of a body shop too. So my car didn't have to get towed.
The wierd thing is I lowered my car a few weeks ago. When I did I noticed how awsome my brakes were. I even precticed a few times slamming on them and locking them up so I would know how to react. And they worked goooood. Well, better than before I lowered it. Here's the thing - my skid marks are about 30 ft. long and my car hit at about 10mph (police said by the amount of sideways rebound my car had ????). I slid way too long. I should have stopped. I know how to brake and keep my car at the edge of locking - I had to do it too many times in wonderful Albuquerque driving. I figure the street was oily or had some sort of glaze on it and it made me slide. It was right at a gas station turn out (where that truck came from) so it's possible. I just can't stop thinking about how I could have avoided it. I guess I couldn't. Oh well.
Thanks again for the sympathy. - Jamin

Dang dude, I honestly can't believe what I am seeing. That just blows me away. I thought your car looked seriously sweet and those pics of it totalled like that...it just hurts. I hope you're okay, and I mean emotionally as well as physically. I think it's okay for a man to cry in this kind of situation. So go ahead, we won't judge you. The only thing I can say is, people get in accidents everyday. You'll get some cash for the car, and you'll buy a new car, and everything will be alright once again. (Maybe you'll get that WRX???)
Oh and as far as the engine comment goes, was that necessary?
Kick the boy while he's down why don't you. So hey riot FYI, a Y5 goes in an HX, not a DX. The DX's have a Y7. If you're going to insult someone, at least get your facts straight. And don't try editing your post now, it's already too late.
Good luck getting everything settled!

I call the motor! ...oh wait...nm, it's a dx..

Re: New Grill Mod!!! (Jaminak)
that sucks...your car was sweet too. i think you'll be lucky tho. i had similar damage to my 98 dx - $8400 was the bill, insurance took care of it(thank god!), but i think the body shop overcharged since it the money was coming from the company and not a private party. i had my front bumper, fenders, hood, lights, grill, radiator, fan, radiator struts, and the internal part of the right fender replaced. had them fix the rest of the dings as well told them i hit a tree.
mine was my fault tho - pretty embarrassing too - i was on a driving clinic/tour! hit some wet leaves on a downhill, reverse-banked hairpin, understeered, hit some mud and went into a small ditch at about 8 mph. if the damn thing didn't have its wheels in the air i could've driven it to a shop. had to wait 3 hours for AAA since we were up in the mountains of nowhere. anyway, here's some pics if you wanna compare the damage http://www.mrpepsi.com/auto/civic/civic.html btw this is not my website, in case you come across his fanatic pepsi mechandise collection
please...no flames for the SuperStreet emblem...it was cracked in the accident and never replaced...
