Default New car (to me)

Whats going on guys. Just picked up an 97 EK hatch DX 5spd. Bought it off of a friend to use as a beater so my redneck ferrari won't have daily duties and i love it! fun little car. Just a couple quick q's. This thing does not have a center console! How would i go about adding an armrest between the driver and passenger seat? other than that she is pretty solid with 120k. clutch still grabs, tranny is smooth although the shifter feels like a wet noodle (stock). Would replacing the worn bushings be my best bet for returning shifter feel? Thanks guys, look forward to learning/reading!

you can get go to a junk yard and find a civic that has it, or go on ebay or somewhere and order it, i dont think all the bolt holes line up, but its still sturdy

yeah there are a couple holes that won't line up unless you get the bracket the your e brake cables hook up to. but still sturdy enough without, plus extra storage

so can someone school me on what motor/tranny this thing has?

I know it is a D15 non vtec, but i am unsure of the actual engine code and tranny code. also, due to the lack of a tach i also dont know the redline mph in each gear. how hard is it to put in a cluster with a tach?

It's very simple to add a cluster with a tach. You can pick one up on ebay or from a junkyard and swap it in probably within 20-30mins. It's all completely plug and play.

Edit: I should note you need a cluster from a 96-98 model though.

No sir, you can pull the entire speedo from your cluster and put it in the new one. All you do is remove 3 screws and drop it in place.

Here's a DIY(just look at the speedo swap part):http://www.superhonda.com/forum/f94/...-420kb-274853/

It's not from H-T so it will probably be deleted, but I couldn't find one here with the new crappy search. And I know that's for a 92-95, but it's exactly the same with the 96-98s

Get the energy suspension shift stabilizer bushings. They are like $15 and make a night and day difference.
