Default neutral safety switch no work!?

Hey everyone, i got a 2000 civic lx, and im in the process of doing a 5 speed swap. i have the neutral safety wires( 2 thick wires) ran to the pedal, and the reverse wires from that same connectors ran to the switch on the trany.. The problem is, the car itself is now hot with 12v, and the car wont crank unless the starter is grounded from an outside source( wrench on mount). If idisconnect that shifter harness, the car will become a ground again and will start, but if i go into reverse, the lights wont come on. I am on the auto ecu currently as the swap is not finish...would the ecu play a part in my situation? Thanks

No, the ecu doesn't play a role in the starter cranking, i can disconnect my ecu and the car will still crank but not start. The neutral safety wires im guessing(never mess with auto's) are used to tell the car that your in park? You ran them to the manual pedal switch?

edit: look under FAQ's

Yea, i did, i wonder if the auto ecu needs to see those 2 wires with the shifter assembly for the car to work...? And since the shifter is hooked up,and i think the reverse lights wont work because, the shifter is conected..lol

I did some readings, and if the neutral safet dont work, the reverse lights wont work, and my reverse lights are depinned from that connector. Reading that, i believe the auto ecu has that hooked up

Convert your ECU,

then this was found in one of the links i sent you.

But all you need to do is connect 5 wires total. One of the plugs that you disconnected from the auto shifter is a 14P plug. Cut the plug off. Your going to have a 2 thick blk wires and 1 blk/blu wire, Solder those 3 together. Those together lets your car think its in park and releases the key and starts your car. Important

Next there is a yel/red wire and a grn/blk wire. Doesnt matter what way they go they do the same. These are for your reverse lights. Connect some line to them and run it through the firewall to your reverse light switch. And your set.

Cruise Control Update
This was given by Nomac5 on here and according to him it works. What he did was take the pink wire and grounded it with the blk (ground) wire. Now i havent tried this personally but he says it works. Some feedback would be great from others as well.

Sadly i couldnt figure out the Cruise control but i believe because the car thinks its in park to get the key and start it wont allow you cruise control. But if you want to know your Cruise control wire its a pink wire. To wire in the clutch safty switch run the 2 black wires to your safty switch and with the clutch pressed it should make a complete circuit and allow you to start your car.

Yes thats exactly how i have it already, but the only thing, the blu/blk wire needs to touch the black wire for the key to work, i tried grounding just the wire, but no go.... i have a manual ecu from a ls, so i will see how it goes once i finish!. Thanks alot man

Yeah, it says to wire all 3 of those wires together
