Default Need wiring help with b16a2 in 95 del sol

Alright.... here's my problem. I have swapped in a B16a2 from a 99-00 civic SI in my 95 del sol. Everything was pretty cut and dry as far as the swap and the harness, only had to lengthen vtec wires and AIT. All the motors electronics (dizzy, injectors, alt, ect, so forth...) have been swapped for obd1 b18c parts. I'm getting CEL 4 (crank angle sensor). I know the b16 has the crank sensor by the oil pump, and i dont have it wired up. does the b18c not have the ckp in the dizzy either?? whats the best way to wire up the cpk sensor?? Separate wires from the ECU to the cpk plug?? or splice into my dizzy wires?? And IF splice in the dizzy... which wires would i use.

I searched and could'nt find a clear answer to my problem b/c most ppl use the jdm b16's that dont have a crank angle sensor.

TIA

bump... 21 views, no answer ??? I thought this was one of the most popular (around a long time lol) swaps?

the dizzy that is on the car now is a jdm b18c dizzy. I thought i read somewhere that the jdm cars dont have crank angle sensors... is this correct? If so i guess my problem would be the dizzy i have on the car and i would have to buy another. Any confirmation of this would be much appreciated!!!

Code 4 is for the crank position (CKP) sensor in the dizzy not the crank fluctuation (CKF) sensor near the crank. I think that JDM motors lack the CKF sensor, which is irrelevant to code 4.

i see. so do i need to hook up the plug (sensor) by the crank pulley for this swap to run right? the crank fluctuation sensor?

so the crank angle sensor on the b-series is in the dizzy on all the models usdm or jdm huh? like the d-series?

I don't believe so. If it were needed by the ECU, the CKF sensor throws code 54. Are you pulling this code? You shouldn't be for an OBDI ECU.

That's my understanding. The resistance of the CKP sensor in the distributor should be 350-700 Ohms. You might want to check this and that the CKP wires are good and pinned properly to your OBDI ECU. What specific ECU are you using?

preciate the help ronj.. i got it figured out. Barely saw it, but the blue/green wire (ckpp) was ever so slightly broke. Funny thing too, b/c when i soldered it back together and tried to start the car it wouldnt start!!! come to find out (after robbing from a d-series dizzy) that by sheer luck, lol, my coil went out. Swapped it out, started it up, and took it around the block. No cels, runs good ( pretty darn good for being run on a p28 too... temp untill my phearable p30 map shows up) no hiccups.

thanx for all the help.... always the stoopid things that bite me in the **** lol
