Need swap opinions NOW
I have a chance to pick up a GSR entire swap, complete suspension(brakes, LCA's, lowering springs, etc) all for $3300 installed. Only problem is the motor has 160XXX miles on it. Also replacing the water pump, timing belts, and all gaskets. Gotta know in the next hour or so. Any opinions appreciated on whether or not I should do this.

That motor has alot of miles on it. Do you know if they are highway or city miles? Have you seen the motor run at all? $3300 seems like a good price installed with everything you listed.

LOW BALL him tell him miles are too high but if he lowers his price you'll do it. U can always get it rebuilt but thats another story. If you plan on going crazy like getting a new valve train and new pistons then go for it

I'm doing all the maintenenace stuff first, figure over the summer redo pistons, cams, rods, etc. I planned on doing all this stuff anyways, this is just a way to get a good suspension in the process. And the miles are highway, he drives 45 minutes to and from work everyday.

What's all needed for a complete rebuild? And how much of the stuff is DIY? Do I need to machine and sleeve it? All I plan on doing is some bolt ons and a 75 shot next summer. What all will need to be replaced to do this?

If you dont plan on rebuilding it completly then dont buy it... If you're getting a swap you're going to be driving it hard and with that many miles chances are something is going to break.

Re: Need swap opinions NOW (JapTendencies)
Your Post says 300 installed for the following correct?
GSR Full Engine Swap, tranny ecu axles wire harness everything
All four corners of gsr brakes with lcas lowering springs and everything.
I personalyl think its a damn good deal, ecspecially installed. Who cares about that miles if you plannin on doing a rebuild just sake it easy and when you do the swap do like you said gaskets, timing blt, water pump and you shoul dbe fine until you can save up for a rebuild.
Id do it. **** i payed 3100 for my full 95 gsr swap with 60k on it and that wasnt installed or with a full gsr brake and suspension setup....

do it man, you won't regret the power difference and what do we have hondas and acuras for? because they last a LONG time. if you plan on putting better internals in it anyways, then there is no reason not to get it, try to get it compression tested first.

Hey BSeriesPWR, who are you on STLSR? I only know of a few swapped Bseries people out here, so I probably know who ya are.
