need some options on motors
i drive a 93 civic ex with the stock d16, its my dd. the rod bearings are starting to knock in it. i dont have much for money right now either. i got about 750 right now. what are my optinos?? i might have a b18b complete motor coming to me for free. i have to rebuild it and get ecu axles etc. would i be better off rebuilding the d16z6?? i was going to boost it but now the rod bearings are going so.... thx for the help guys

If you gotta replace all the internals, then you might wanna get the cylinders bored just a little bit due to scratching of the probably dry as hell rings since it's 14 years old.
I mean if you rebuild that Z6 you gotta rebuild it right.
I'd say take the LS motor (B18B)
What do you have to rebuild on it? The Z6 would be cheaper part for part, but if you gotta go ground up like that with all new rods 'n **** you're lookin at a totally different game altogether.

Re: need some options on motors (Syndacate)
the rings went in it which isnt much but the motor has been sitting so it prolly needs all bearings, and might as well do rod bearings while your right there. then i have to find shift linkage, ecu, mounts and axles. b18b is obd1 or obd2?? thx man

I would go with a b18b.
Buy a longblock. And see if you can get a good deal on a gsr/b16/itr tranny.
If not, there's nothing wrong with the b18b tranny.

agreed
will you be doing the swap yourself? make a list of stuff you'll need to make the b18b run/bolt up to your ride. Keep in mind you'll need to do the regular maintence on the b18b, if its not been done already.

All depends... I got mine with a B16 trans for 800 minus shiftlinkage that runs about 50-75 here in CA. I have also seen a few complete LS swaps go for 725 obo (this is a thread still going in the So Cal marketplace). I am currently rebuilding/building 2 B18b1's so if you need a estimate on what stuff costs and where to buy it I can tell you easily and even provide you with some links.
