Default Need some Info.

Hey everyone. I just bought a 99 civic ex. It has a D16y8 and i just wanted to know if these motors are notorious for rod knock? It has a 146000 miles on it. All of the oil changes and maintence has been very well kept up with. I just want to make sure that it still has some life left in it. Any info would be very appriciated.

i just bought that exact car 99 EX coupe 5spd with 104k and i have no problems with it, as long as the car has been taken care of all you have to check for is a timing belt and water pump and you are good.

what are you planing on doing to it?

I have 160k on my 97 civic ex coupe and it runs like a champ.. Except for a gasket that failed on my crankcase which causes lil less than 1/2 quart of oil a wk to leak out.]

Just keep up with the oil changes, and general maintenance and your Honda should last you quite a while.

not much. I have the timing belt right next to me. I am hopefully going to get it changed next week sometime. I have no oil leaks or anything right now (knock on wood).
