need some help with my future eg
Well I guess my money situation isnt as bad as planned. I still have to sell my ex but I get to trade it in and keep the left over. Iam prob just gonna get a cheap eg for like 4 or 5 grand. Iam hoping to get like 9 for my trade. So that leaves me with around 4 grand. Iam not getting my new car till summer.(Iam in college and not allowed to have a car at school my first year) so I have many months to save money from my job. So all in all Iam hoping to have the car plus 7 grand. Iam gonna go for a b18c1 swap get the basic i/h/e and pulleys right away. What next. Iam thinking about going with cams and gears and the valvetrain parts. Bigger tb and port matched intake, and also a p&p head and valve job. My goal is to get mid to low 13s with a full interior and street tires. What do I all need.
Thanks for the help like usual
Troy Halverson
Cliff Notes: with 7 grand and a b18c1 swap (swap taken out of the 7k) what parts should I all get. Goal is to be in the 13s(I know it will take more money but just get me started).

I was planning on it. But after the basic bolt ons in what order should I do the upgrades to the engine? What do you think I will all need in their to get mid 13's?

Like DragII said, if you went turbo you would be in the 13's and have $ to spare.
What is your reason for wanting to stay N/A? The reason really does make a big difference...

Your header and exhaust decisions should be determined by which cams you get. Cams like CTR, ITR, Toda A's aren't very aggressive and wont require a collector and piping larger than 2.25 inches. Cams like Toda B's, Jun 3 are more aggressive and will require at least 2.5 inch piping and collector to get proper breathing. Your JDM headers come with a 2.5 inch collectors. Most USDM collectors are 2.25 inches. First thing you want to do is research some cams and see determine which will give you the numbers your looking for. From there you can determine which setup is best for you.

Well I know Iam gonna get jun cams(along with valvetrain) of some type. Iam not sure if Iam going type 3 or 2 yet. The reasons I want to go all motor are because I heard they are more fun to drive, more reliable(so I have heard), I wouldnt trust myself driving a turbo civic(I think I would blow the motor is a day or two), I dont mind spending the money(sure it wont be done all at once but it leaves me with something to look forward to and save up for), and I think it would be cooler beating domestics with a all motor 1.8l cause all turbo civics get **** for it. Like they are cheating.

Hey Halive,
Man, i'm in the same situation. I'm about to sell my 98 EX coupe. Why don't you sell ur car to a private buyer? Wouldn't you get a considerably lower price when trading it in?
