Need some help choosing...
Hey guys I'm very new to the Honda scene and know very little about the engines technically.
This weekend I'm picking up a 1992 Civic Hatch shell, it's all bone stock even the original D15 in it. The kid I'm getting it from is saying that the only thing wrong with it is that it needs new valve guide seals.
I'm also working on picking up an LS/non-vtec swap.
What I'm wondering is would it be worth it to get the swap even though I'll have to fork over a few extra dollars? Or should I stick with the d15 and just use the money I was going to buy the ls swap with and build it up?

Depends on what you are looking for and how much you want to spend overall. Turbo? N/A? Built block/head? DD, track car, auto cross? Weekend track car? LS is a good swap and usually cheap, will be a good base to work off of. If you stay D series you should look into a z6, zc, or jdm d15b.

Well the shell I'm pickin up for 700, the LS swap ,also 700, is coming with everything, axles, shift linkage, ecu, etc but since it's coming out of a 91 DA I'm going to have to get new mounts correct?
I'm leaning towards the LS because as it seems the D15 would not get me the power I'm looking for.
I'm wanting to go boost eventually. Also I was wondering since the LS is an OBD0 ECU should I convert it to OBD1 before I do anything else to it?

Yes. You'll have to find a jumper harness. And I believe that is cable clutch? You may be better off finding an LS out of a 94+ integra.

That's also something I've been tossing around. If I remember correctly EG's are hydro clutch not cable so I will have to convert that am I correct?

Yes, not to mention obd1 > obd0. You are better off finding a newer LS swap. IMO, I would never pay $700 for a DA integra LS swap, but that is just me.
