Default Need responses on my 1/4 mile times and help.

ok well I was at Cayuga today in my 2000 civic hatch with 99' USDM B18C1.
My car was gutted out and riding on 16" rota's wrapped in Kuhmo Ecsta 712's

don't mind the R/T the other runs I had all of them under .600

This is my first time at the track EVER. First run I did I had a R/T of .550 hahah I was so happy but I hit a 15.2 like wtf

ok and I go on:

r/t 1.077
60'ft 2.265
330 6.270
1/8 9.592
mph 74.15
1/4 14.883
MPH 92.38

ok my car weighed in at 2464 lbs without me and +214 lbs of me = 2678lb vehicle I took out all my tools, spare, jack, door panels, back seats, passenger seat.

Please help on how to get my time lower and what times do 00' hatch with GSR motors usually do????

I am feeling so sad that I want to sell it and get an EF and build an all motor B20VTEC

It was a bad day for a lot of people a golf who was dynoed in at just over 350whp (vr6turbo) hit 13.7

My buddy says he has a stock 2000 B16A2 inside a 92 cx hatch stripped and he pulled off a 14.1

he does have the nitrous lines and I've seen the two bottles but he left them at home.

you buddys EG with the b16 ran a healthy time. Your 60 foot however, is pretty decent. Hows your shifting?

I powershift pretty good. Not the best but pretty good. I think I can pull off a 14.7 if I just kill the crap out of my tranny

Well I am not feeling that bad I beat an H22 Type S EK that pulled a 15.6 (best time) the rest were 15.7 and 15.8 for him

Yeah, something isn't adding up. You should be in the territory of low 14's. I assume the motor is stock? Does the engine run good? 60' times are better than anything I've ever pulled with my Extesa 712's...

I don't really know that. It was at Cayuga raceway. Pretty windy outside too.

well I've seen some 6 second passes all the way up to my buddies ZC 91 hatch ahahhahah 18.0 hahahahahahha one of the guys I know brought a Suzuki Swift stock and he wore a helmet to scare people but he was hitting 17.6's hahahah on a stock SWIFT. hahahahah the ZC EF hatch lost to a stock suzuki swift.

Well my runs were first vs neon. I beat him thank god. 2nd race vs a race car who got the red light and I won hahaha. 3rd race vs corvette Z06 and he showed me heaven. 4th race vs a 10.1 second Mustang on nitrous I was scared being beside that thing it was so loud hahahahah. sorry guys first time at the track and I am going nuts.

estimation of elevation?

The good news is, your 1320 was right on with your trap speed... the bad thing is, your trap speed should be around 96-97ish, therefore putting you low 14 range.

so could the excess weight of the car cause the lower trap speed???? I even disconnected the HID's from the battery so they don't drain anything. I did a compression test not too long ago and got 165 165 170 170

is that bad?????

What RPM are you shifting at when you race?

If other cars, like the H22 EK, are running slow, then it might be track conditions, elevation, etc. that are keeping cars in your area from reaching full potential. Other than that, practice.... your getting decent 60' times for those tires.

ya my first run the 60 foot was at 2.45? and my reaction time was 0.550 (I raced a neon that was doing 15.27 all day. I hit a 15.23 that's embarrasing to be almost side by side with a neon.

Then I got a few hints to not keep the clutch completely down but have it just before the car starts moving. as soon as I see the light go first yellow I rev up to between 4000 and 4500 rpm and drop it on 3rd light before green that's how I get my low r/t hehehehe. As long as I was happy with something and it wasn't the car it was me hahah. My R/T.

but thankx for the help I will try St.Thomas and see how I pull it off there. 14.8 is just sad sad sad. It's a sad day today

Just to let you guys know, reaction time has nothing to do with your 1/4 mile time.
If you get left at the light, it could look bad in a grudge match.

What was the elevation? You should be running better times.

Good call. Most people do. When i first got into drag racing, I thought my stock 99 Civic Hatch could run 15.6 because I ran 16.6 with a 1.5 sec. R/T.

I don't know much about drag racing, but it seems like your car is pretty heavy for removing all that. My EX Coupe weighed 2350 with just the back seat removed, spare tire, and jack removed.

it seems about right, that MPH coincide with the 1/4 time.

Ya but isn't my mph a little low. A buddy of mine in a 92 cx hatch stripped with a stock B18B pulled off a trap speed of 97mph. I guess the extra weight is dragging me I don't want to strip it that much.

Turbo GSR running 8psi was only doing 14.1
