Need pics or need confirmation of D16y8 MidPipe and B16a2 MidPipe
This may sound stupid, but I need to know the part numbers for the D16y8 and B16a2 midpipes. I am trying to gather the oem exhuast components from an SI to mate with the b16.
There is a part number on the resonator, but thats the model for the resonator, which should be 2 different models when compared from the d16 to the b16. The brand on the resonator should be Sankei 4015 on the D-Pipe. The B-pipe should be Futaba 2014. I may be wrong on the number, but I am correct with the brand.
The piping I have now is puny and it has a diamter size of a ping pong ball. I know the piping should be bigger for the b. It may not dramatically improve performance, but Id like to have correct components for it.
Can someone post pics of the 2 if anyone has it laying around the garage?
Thanks..

Well the B pipe should be 2.25 for best all motor, 2.5 for boost, spray, or blown
3.0 inches for high boost apps
3.0 inches for high boost apps

Would you happen to have pics of the 99-00 b16 midpipe?

I dont want an aftermarket. No noise, just nice and quiet. Im just gathering parts that were originally for the b16. I am using an ex piping/muffler and I know its quite a bit restrictive based on the diameter of the piping.

IMO I dont think a header makes the sound of the car any louder with a stock exhaust behind it. I had a header first before even a intake and couldnt even tell I had one added.

That's for damn sure, they have some nice silenced mufflers out there that keep the B pretty quiet, but I'm tellin ya man, you start moddin that thing and its gonna get loud no matter what typpe of exhaust you got. I got 2.25 piping straight back from header, resonator pipe midway, 4 inch exhaust outlet. It's nice n quiet around 3500rpm (daily driving shifts) but yeah, of course when I get on it and open it up she starts screamin especially at 5500 (mmm VTEC). But I think your goin for a nice subtle sleeper look. go to hondas website, they gotta have oem info and gl and have fun

Im not looking for a header, and I know adding one will not make any noise.
Just need the midpipe.

Yup, just trying to stay as quiet as possible. Ill try looking elsewhere. its not that urgent.

If you're looking for an OEM upgrade, look into getting a stock Type-R exhaust. The Civic Si exhaust is no different than every other stock Civic exhaust, except it has a little tip at the end.

Re: Need pics or need confirmation of D16y8 MidPipe and B16a2 MidPipe (lax1185)
How sure are you? This is what I need to confirm. Honda has 2 seperate part numbers for the 2 pipes (ex/si).
I found a oem itr axleback muffler on ebay and it was $180. Now thats $$$. Ill keep looking around.
Will the midpipe off an itr fit on a b16 header? If anything, Id rather go this route if I wanna stay oem/quiet.
