need opinions on best exhaust for the $$
im planning on gettin a new exhaust soon and i was wondering on which is the best bang for the buck. im lookin for somthign kinda deep sounding and maybe not too pricey if u can if not then oh well. i started off by lookin at a skunk2 exhaust system for $525 and i was jus wondering of others that perform just as well for around 300-450 bucks. if not any of these, should i go custom? i was thinkin i should since i still have the weak stock motor in my car and then i could buy a muffler i want and go to a shop and have them get the size piping that would be best suited for me. the custom job would cost me about $300.
All suggestions welcome
Thanks in advance.

I personally prefer greddy exhausts. I think the quality and sound of the greddy evo is amazing. It has a nice deep tone to it, and there was a slight noticeable gain mid-high rpms. It's really personaly preference though, so good luck hunting.

I got a muffler from Edlebrock that's for sale. It was not too loud, but I also had a 18inch silencer with it too, which is also for sale. Made 7hp and 6ft lbs on a D16Z6 with no other mods.

Personally, I think you should get a muffler of your choice, and then have a shop do custom piping for you- get as straight as possible...this way you avoid the cost of a whole cat back system, but yet you reep the same potential, just go to a well known reliable shop that does quality work...too many shops around here do horrible work...just my opinion.

get a mid section cat-back made at a muffler shop, 3" piping, w/ apexi N1 rear section...works great... shouldnt cost too much if you look around for the right shop.

i think the apexi n1 exhausts look the best, but they are real loud.
i have a greddy sp on my hatch and am very pleased with the quality and quietness of the system, until you punch it

Custom mandrel bent piping + an es oval muffler. Almost looks stock, good performance gains, light, and quiet.
Edit: oh yeah, cheap too.

That's all I have at the moment. You can read about the mufflere here. http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/mufflers.html
I'll sell the muffler for $40 and the resonator for $20.
