Need helping choosing a new break system
okay HT i have no idea about breaks and i was hoping that some of you guys could help me out and recommend some.
Right now i have the stock setup and it's time for new brakes so i thought why not go ahead and upgrade while i have a little extra cash
It's a daily driver and i drive a lot, with moderate speeds.
I searched and didn't find anything related to this sorry if i missed it.
I drive a 97 civic HX

Re: Need helping choosing a new break system
There are a few write ups on HT about using factory Honda brakes from other models like Integras, Legend, NSX, etc. search. There are also aftermarket kits like Wilwood. If its a street car and not raced on the track, you should be fine with sport pads, new rotors, and new brake fluid and steel lines. If you need more then I would try to do at least an EX knuckle swap or better a 5 lug swap from a CTR. Those allow you to use larger rotors without the need to drill new lug holes.

there is no need for anything more
however you don't have to upgrade hubs inorder to up size rotors
big brake kits have mixed reviews however
but your situation calls for nothing more
my past set up was:
95 civic EX
brembo rotors
EBC Green stuf pads
stainless lines (power stop i think)
and flushed till clean with fresh dot4
would stop on a dime
you can use only dot 3,4,and 5.1 (if you can find it)
