If its D series, the place is ontop of the oil filter, its the location for the stock sensor. you can either run a "T" so you can retain the idiot light, or you can just use the gauge

you have to remove the oil filter, its between the filter, and the intake manifold. its hidden by block webbing. It should have two wires running to a small sensor that you will remove

I assume your talking about the oil pressure sensor?

You remove it, and then screw in one of the brass adapters that game with the gauge. from then you put on the brass bushing, tighten the fitting, and run the line to the gauge

You'll need a 15/16th" socket to get the "bobber thingy" off. The "bobber thingy" is your oil sending unit. After you take it off you'll need the brass "T" connector and if you don't already have one and it's fixin' to rain you're chit out of luck.

aslong as you hooked the line up to the gauge,, you will be fine with the exception of a oil light being on

It's obviously mechanical if he had to run an oil line into the cabin of the car. Something is wrong because it should only be around 25 psi at idle, unless the car has been sitting for a while and is running at operating temperature. If you just started it after it sat for a while and cooled off then it is reading right b/c the oil is thicker after it sits for a while.

your oil pressure would be low then...it's reading right...let it warm up and then tell us what it's reading...

if the engine is cold then that's why your oil pressure is so high...let your car warm up and then tell us what the pressure is reading...actually drive it around for a while and see what it does...

and hey, just to let you know, be careful when you change your oil filter, be extremely careful b/c the other day I changed my oil filter and bent my tubing and it cracked and leaked oil pretty bad and I had to take it off b/c I didn't have the time to fix it...just a lil reminder...

well i was asking if it was electronic or mechanical because i have an electronic one i need to hook up. Don't mean to steal the thread dude, but you have your problem solved. Should i simply splice the signal wire into one of the wires coming out of the sensor you were talking about? TIA
