need help with my CF hood

Default need help with my CF hood

I been reading about maintainign your cf hood and people used wet sand paper to get the oxidation out. i went to autozone and got the fine one and used it with alot of water. then i washed it agian and my hood has these swirls that i cant get out. pls help

try wax, and if that doesnt work you might have to get the hood clear coated

If you take it to a detail shop or a paint shop they should be able to buff it out with polishing compounds

i read this thread where many people said they had used wet sandpaper to get the oxidation out of the hood.

most likely ur gonna need have to get the hood clear coated, im 99% sure when u wet sand any surface that has clear coat it will take it right off. But try to wax and polish...

Who the **** told you that wet sanding will only take off all the clear if you don't know what you are doing and you don't use the right grit sandpaper

I had read it on a post and everybody was sayign that wet sandpaper will take the oxidation from the hood. I will give you guys the update on what method to solve this.

I think its pretty obvious he wasnt using the right grit of sandapper

All you need is 3M rubbing compound-Fine cut and a buffer. It removes all fine scratches and will restore your shine without having to get it clear coated again. It's the only thing that saved my carbon fiber hood. For future care, use Zymol wax cleaner.
