Default Need help with loss of power/missing problem

this is kind of a long story but i will try to condense it as much as i can. i have a 1993 civic dx with the d15b7 enigne in it. it has appox. 163k on it. a little over a month ago it through the CEL light and wouldn't go over 4 grand without blowing my ECU fuse in the engine bay fuse area. i did a visual inspect about 2 weeks later when i finally had time to do one and found that one wire on my Oxygen sensor had burnt into from being up against my header. i repaired that by putting it back together and my CEL light went off. now my car wants to miss and sputter really bad when ever there is partial throttle applied but, if i press the gas pedal to the floor it goes away for a few seconds or sometimes minutes. this doesn't happen all of the time. also if i try to just drive through the missing my CEL light will come on and then everything is fine. the engine runs and seems to sound fine. i checked the spark plugs to see if they were fouled out and they looked fine. i also replaced the plug wires to see if that would help and it didn't. i don't know if it is a faulty injector or something totally different. i have also been told to replace my air filter on the end of my AEM CAI. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Try resetting your ECU - Pull the negative battery cable and (I think) the #10 fuse in the engine bay fuse holder - leave it disconnected for 10 or 15 minutes. Hook everything back up and try it again....

BTW - if you have an alarm that is battery backed up, you may have to disconnect that as well...

thanks man. i'll try that and see if it works. if anyone can think of another problem or solution that would also help to narrow things down.

the wires are new, the plugs about a year old. it throws the CEL only sometimes so i cant really jump my ecu to see what it is. i'll also try the fuel filter and everything else you said until i fix it. does anyone think that it could be my air filter??? there's this one person that keeps saying that that is the problem. what does everyone else think???

you can check the cel code with car running (at idle). do you know how to check the cel code? try this thread.

well you can just replace the air filter if it dirty. dirty air filter not helping the car breathing. change the plugs too it only like a couple buck each, and use ngk or denso. what about rotor and cap? how old are they?
