Just because it is an auto doesn't mean you can't do anything performance wise. You have to decide if you want to swap the motor, turbo your motor, or just have an N/A set up. If you really want a 5 spd. you can do that swap too. Search and you will find out alot of options for your civic.

Can I put a cold air intake (AEM, Injen) on my auto civic? Are the specs the same for autos as they are for manuals? I haven't be able to find one that actually says for automatics...so does that mean that it will work on both?

should be the same if the the engines are the same, only difference is the trans. Try contacting the manufacturers.

auto b swap = slower than a manual d16y8/z6. if you want serious performance, you'll need a auto->man swap. i've seen JR supercharged auto ex's running 8sec 0-60. that's more than 1sec faster than stock, but still sloooow.

my 1st car was an auto accord. it looked hot, but was slow as fwak. i gave it to my lil bro and bought a hatch

Summit sport compact sells new torque converters that say they can take at least 1/2 sec. off your 1/4 mile time. That along with all the other mods, shift kits can be made to work with your auto to improve shifting for firmer quicker shifts.
just a thought

You're 21, there's no reason for you to sit your *** at your comp and average almost 5 posts a day. Unless you have no life. When you were 16 you didn't drive fast? BS!

Yes, i am 21, yes i am sitting on my *** today (because its my day off) and i dont leave for another 1/2 hour to hang out with my homegirl. And no when i was 16 i didnt even have my license, i was still taking the bus, because my parents wouldnt buy me a car or pay for behind the wheel or anything. I had to do everything on my own like now.

.. Just because one is 16 doesn't mean that mommy and daddy did everything for them. I'm 16(got my license on my bday), I drive a clean Milano Red 97EX w/ a B18B1 swap in it. I've been working on Hondas for years with my brother. Guess who pays the car payment and insurance? Me.. I have a job at Circuit City making pretty decent money for being 16. Over $300 a month just for car payment and insurance.

Not trying to flame you-- just don't make assumptions.

To the poster:
If you're looking for performance you're going to want to go with a manual tranny anyhow. I would reccomend looking into a B-series swap.. that way instead of just swapping out the tranny, you can just swap in a new, more powerful motor with a manual tranny. Read the FAQs at the top of this forum.

Swap for B, H, or even the almighty K series . Then decide from there N/A or F/I.

Searching is the key. I learned and I'm still learning so much just from searching then posting.

good luck

I'm 17, I love to go fast. And I paid for my car, my license, my permit, my insurance, and everything else I have for my baby.

Next time don't assume something about me when you don't even know me. I'm not all about speed. I simply want my car to run at its highest potential. This topic is about ideas on how to make my car run better, not whether i'm a reckless speeder and endanger those around me. I too have a job. I've worked at a veterinary clinic for almost 2 years now and in those 2 years i've saved for this car. Because I too had to take the freakin bus to school every morning.

Would probably cost you a little over $2000 for EVERYTHING needed for a LS swap. Pricing goes up from there. http://www.zerolift.com (local shop by me.. check out their prices-- pretty similar to others')

That is such a broad question. WHICH B series swap do you want? They can range from $2,000 to as much as $10,000. Yes I said $10,000.

EDIT: BTW, they guy you are making fun of (luserkid) does engine swaps for the cheapest price around. That came back and bit you in the *** didn't it?

ok so maybe it did come back to bite me in the ***...but he's not the only one who does engine swaps. $10,000 for an engine swap? This would include everything i assume. I was thinking a B16 swap.
