Need help asap v-tec question.

Need help asap v-tec question.
I just complete my b16 swap into my eg. I have wired up v-tec as it should be, or so I believe. When I start the car the check engine light does NOT come on. I went for a test drive and at roughly 5500 rpms when v-tec should kick the CEL comes on. I can't get the CEL to come on with the key just in the on position to check for what it may be. Any ideas? Looking for a fast responce. Thanks

what i did when i had a situation like that was jump the connector so it flashes the cel code in the dash, then went for a drive and counted the code on the way back to my house
