Default Need Help

I have a 93 cx civic that came with a d15b8 engine. Im tired of driving a slow car around and have gotten to the point of doing something about it. I was thinking of at least getting a better head on the engine. The d15b8 engine comes with a 8 valve head and I am planing to swap the head out for a 16 valve non vtec head that comes of a d15 engine. Has anyone ever done this before? I did a search but not much comes up for a d15b8 engine. I was also going to use the ecu to benifit this head swap but, want to now if ths is even possible. I know its not going to be that much better but 70 crank horse is killing me.

You can swap a B7 16-valve head on if the pistons in your B8 have a 4-valve relief. Then there is some misc wiring stuff like 1-wire O2 to a 4-wire dizzy i think unless its the same ECU/dizzy/O2 between the B8 8-valve and B716-valve.

the head is coming of a d15b2 engine. I thought the pistons on the d15b2 engine were flat. Thats why I thought that I was able to use the head with my d15b8 engine. I just want to try to learn and hopefully help everyone else that has a d15b8 engine and doesnt want top spend much $$$$$$$.

Also the d15b2 head was a 1 wire 02sensor, and my d15b8 is also a 1 wire 02sensor. Why would I have to change it to a 4 wire 02sesor? That makes no sense but again I am a noob.

D15B7 and the older D15B2 head have the same castings but different cam shafts from what I know. Plus, the D15B7 head is OBD-I whereas the D15B2 head is OBD-0, unless you're not going to worry about the dizzy and just re-use yours?

dont worry about the O2 thats kinda dependant on the ECU you chose to run.

Yes I am planning on using the dizzy that is on the stock d15b8 engine, also planning on using the same intake mani and injestors. I just plan on swapping to a 16 valve head. Did you mean to say the d15b7 head is obd1 and d15b2 head is obd-0???? If so, am I better of on getting a d15b7 head? If I am able to do this head swap, what head would be best ecu and the easiest to install and bring the most power out of this head swap? I would like alot of input on this plan of mine , I am tired of their being no info on how to get some cheap and easy power out of a d15b8 engine.

I Did a good long search online, and this question has been stunning people for a long time. I feel good on going with this head swap. their is so many mixed reviews on this motor, but basicly I gathered some good info. 88-91 d15b8 engines only had 2 valve relief pistons and 92 and up d15b8 engines came with 4 valve relief pistons. If this turns out to work this would be a great way to may some good power. Please post your 2 cents in, like I said I will try and go forward on this head swap but, I would like people input on this. I am also leaning for a p05 ecu and a d15b7 head.
