Need to BAR an EG in the state of california, but have questions...Help please!
Ok so I picked up a '95 civic CX HB, that came with a B16HMO replacement block, and has a B16 head that reads '91/7 which makes it a '92. My question are what year does the head have to be, because I've been told different things, and now I am just confused about what needs to be done. It also has a P72 ECU, I will be replacing this ECU with a USDM P30 OBD1 out of a Del Sol. Another questions is, does the ECU have to be out of a '95 P30 USDM Del Sol. And what should be the perfered engine and dash harnesses to use, and does it matter on the years or should they just be any old OBD1 VTEC harnesses. I want to keep the EG cluster, if that helps any! Please Need Help, but please only post if you know, if you do not know don't even post, because I am tired of misconseptions...Thank you in advance HT

Your going to want to pick up a 95 head and the ecu can be any del sol vtec ecu. Thats the easist way to stay obd1. You could use an obd2 head and explain that its a replacement and use all your obd1 smog stuff. But that depends on the smog guy weithe r it will pass or not.

My harness is mangeled and needs to be replaced, do I replace it with a EG Si harness for the dash, and a Del Sol for the the Engine bay harness?

You could use a harness off a Del Sol VTEC, Del Sol with B16, 92-95 Civic SI, 93-95 Civic Ex coupe. Any of those will be fine.

How can I tell the difference on a JDM P30, and USDM P30? Is there any number on the ECU that reads different?
