Need Advice
I am thinking of buying a 93 Honda Civic Si. Is there anything I should be worried about. I am really new to the Honda scene and need some advice. From what I have read and seen Hondas are really reliable cars. Any feedback would be of great help.

Re: Need Advice (CRAPanese760)
Make sure you run a car fax on it.
Pop out the rear interior panels to see if it has been hit or repaired. Even if the car has been repaired perfectly the back side of the metal will alwasy expose the truth.
Check all of the usal stuff. Does the bottom of the oil cap look milky, bbq or some other unusal color. Look in the hole too to see how that looks.
Look in the hole where the spare tire goes. If the car was hit it will be very hard to make that area perfect again.
Drive the car, see if the brakes work good and the car drives straight, do a u trun to see if the cv joints are good.
Accelerate aggressively once. If the car is sound it should accelerate smoothly.
Does the tranny grind.
Check the large pivot bushing in the trailing arms for tears. Lowering a car puts allot of stress on these.
Tire condition. Any unusal wear?
I could go on for hours. All of these things will give you reasons to nickle dime and lowball the seller to a lower price. Good luck.

Re: Need Advice (_BEN_)
It has 175 000Kms and they are asking $4900 for it. Thanks Ben for the tips on where to look. I will be sure to check those things, next time I check it out.

That sounds pretty steep unless the body and interior is mint. And I mean mint.
Id look it up at http://www.kbb.com, put in all of the specifics and see what you get.
You can probably get a carfax for free from a fellow ht member. If not a trial member ship is 15 bucks and be sure to share the welth

Re: (rippineg)
thats too much, you should make him a reasonable offer....like 2500....maybe as much as 3500.....but that thing better be pretty. lol Its a 92...no way its worth 4900. Also who drove it before. ie I would pay a lil more for a car driven by an older woman rather than the same one...miles and all that was driven by a person between 16-23 . my .02 sorry to throw it in. got any pic?

Re: Need Advice (Targa250R)
Sorry no pic's. Maybe I'll take some with the digital camera and post them. Yeah, it's $4,900 cdn. I will check out the Carfax trial and if I get it, I will hook you guys up with free searches. If not I will try to find someone with an open account to help me out. It's got no mod's done to it and it is in perfect stock condition. In a way it will be nice, because I will get to mod it the way I want.
