Default N/A JDM B18C OR TURBO H22A

Ok....so i already have a jdm B18C in my hatch and it runs a mid to high 13. I've done everything possible to it without doing major stuff like ITB's or new pistons. Compretion is close to 12:1 and i run premium gas (93 octane). Its tuned with the apexi vafcII and has a p28 chipped ecu with rev limiter set to 9000 rpm.

Dont get me wrong i love my car and using it to spank camaros and mustangs all day...but i want more power :D

should i sell the engine and buy a h22a and turbo kit? LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK

nobody can answer that for you. those are 2 completely diff setups that are hard to compare. I predict this thread turning into another H vs B thread.

drop the compression and turbo the B....no comparissons just my opinion....now if your track bound and only track bound go the other route...B's are potent power plants but and H turbo on the street is madness....as seen through my own eyes....i drive a turbo dc2 daily driven and it can get rough at times w/ 300whp ...

Turbo H22 is going to cost you a ton more cash and be a completely diffrent type of car.

The turbo H22 is not going to have A/C. The turbo H22 is not going to have power steering. The turbo H22 is going to be a "torque monster" in comparison to an N/A b series swap.

The B swap is about 75 lbs lighter. You can retain your a/c and p/s. You will be considerably slower for considerably less money.

This would have been a much better n/a H series vs. boosted B series question than the other way around.

I already dont have power steering because the car is so light weight that even without it, it still seems like you have it. And im also pretty sure that both engines have the same HP and CR and close to same TQ ....so if the ITR weighs less wouldn't it be faster...not slower?

within 5 hp of each other. the H makes more torque. The ITR has higher compression (although neither are ideal for boost), and weighs less, but the torque difference makes up for the heavier weight of the H.
