Default My tranny mount is shot

Hey all the rubber bushing around my tranny mount is totally cracked and rubbing off. When I blip the throttle I can see the whole tranny/motor pivoting around the failing mount. Whats the best way to go about fixing this? Since it seems like just the rubber is dying out can I ebay some ES insert bushings? Or do i gotta spend 250$ on a whole new mount >.<

250 for one mount..?? You can get a complete hasport front mount kit for like 285 lol... You could just probably get some inserts but think about it, you'd still have a shot mount just covering it up with a flimsy peice of rubber... Wouldn't you feel more secure knowing that the mounts in 100% working condition..?? I would.... GL

ps - i bought a set of Hard-Race mounts off ebay about 9 months ago, work AWESOME..!!! my friends hasports even took a **** on him, i paid 75 bucks for 3 115 bucks for 5 mounts, he paid like 250-300 and mine outlasted his... Not bad mouthing hasport or avid or any of them but my budget mounts hold up just as fine... And im bo0sted..!!

Replacing the whole mount is pretty easy depending on which one it is.

Expect to need some blocks of wood and a jack, and you will definitely find it easier with air tools. You can use an impact to remove, but use hand tools to install unless you are experienced with impacts.

Basically you just stick a jack with some wood on top to support the motor/tranny, unbolt the old one and pull it out. Install the new one and if you don't touch the jack it should pop right in and tighten everything down. Double-check and then remove the jack.

Usually takes no more than 30 minutes or so with the right tools and such.

FWIW, I would replace the whole mount. Screw dealing with presses.
