My swap finally came in B16A
I posted this in the Hybrid forum but I'm not getting that many hits.
So I got my swap today. It's a beauty.
There she is.
But I do have some questions concerning the new engine.
This is how the motor came. I'm just wondering why that was unplugged and what that is. It is located behind the intake.
Also
This is A/C right? If so, I only need the alternator belt and I can take the other two off because my car does not have A/C, correct?
In addition, the swap came with a new fuse box, do I use my stock one off of my 94 dx non vtec or do i use the new one? And if I have to use the new one, does it all just plug right in?
Thanks in advance.

Re: (meagainsttheworld)
maybe they unplugged it because alot of times when people take out a motor they break the tps, so maybe thats why they took it off? and that looks more like a power steering pump to me but might wanna have someone confirm that.

first pic is tps, . search here and you will find how to calibrate it. they probably removed it so it would'nt get broken during shipping
second pic is a belt that used to be hooked to an ac compressor. get a P54 bracket from a delsol DOHC vtec and you can use your civic ac compressor, although I woud get a new belt,

Re: (Sketch_hs)
I remember my first one too but I think I knew a little more about the motor than this lol. TPS sensor was removed for shipping. Looks like your motor came from hmotorsonline.com. What you circled is the power steering pump. Replace those belts after you get the motor in. Since you dont have ac in your car pull the bracket off. This ac bracket is right under the power steering pump. Use your stock fuse box.

...either that or it was smashed during shipping. They usually load the engines really tight in the shipping containers, and of course, the TPS would be huddled right up next to another engine. Everything on my swap looked good but it appeared as though someone chewed on the TPS like a piece of beef jerky.

I dont think it was smashed, I dont know if you can tell from the pic, but it was unscrewed off. That is the most likely reason why, not to damage it during shipping.

Re: (TH33G4MON3)
Yea it is pretty clean, only thing is that the valve cover is a little dirty and the letters are oily. Also the way it was tied up, a little corner on the valve cover was chipped away a little also. Other than that, the motor looks pretty good. Just the belts are worn out but I dont need them all. I'm gonna replace the timing belt and alternator belt before I put the swap in.
Heres a pic of the valve cover.
Anyway to clean those letters off?

-Motors come with all sensors intact unless noted or notified to the customer or ad description
-All Sensors are guaranteed not broken and in working condition!
call them ask what's up,,they usually have good customer service so it shouldnt be a problem to send it out to you

Nice, damn clean...
Someone said to remove the AC bracket... what's he going to connect the torque mount to then? In other words, don't remove it...
TPS, get it in... test it... then adjust if necessary... it seems that what H22Ej2 said is fairly common, flat spot ~3.xx volts... check for that.
Cheapy multimeters can be had at radio shack or home depot for under $25. Buy the best digital one you can afford... you will need it!

Go ahead and check and/or replace the oil and water pump. TRUST ME. My swap looked even cleaner when I received it. However, after I installed everything and worked out the kinks, the motor overheated just after 90 miles which ruined my head..buried the cams into the journals. With that said, you might want to go ahead and get an oil pressure and temp guage, and do the same for the water.
I'm just trying to help you avoid spending another 2000 bucks for rebuild. It happened to me, and I would hate for someone else to go through the same thing, especially since I could help avoiding it by warning you.

mine came from them the same way. there should be an indentation in the tps gasket from it being mounted on there you could eye ball it and get it on in the same spot. but if you have a meter check it
