my si is SOLD, buying a cx...
my 95 si is basically stock (coilovers, rims, shocks, paint) and i found a buyer for 5500 @ 110k miles on it
so yeah, i am going to go look at 2 cx's tomorrow and hopefully they are straight and clean...
i just didnt want to go all out on an si when i knew a cx had more potential...
any input?
what should i expect to pay for a cx? if the body is really clean i would pay 3200...does that sound right?

I would have bought an Si if I would have thought that I could get one for a reasonable price that wasn't wrecked or riced out. Oh well, stuck with a CX. I don't miss too much of the amenities, but I wish it had a sunroof.

Yeha what he said, Good Luck.
Eddie - who one day wishes to have a 95 si hatch to add to his collection.

I would have kept the Si. Yes, it is heavier than the CX, but it's nice to have some of the options on the Si. I am actually taking possesion of my 1992 Si tomorrow....FINALLY. I stole mine for $2700

Price of a cx ...
it all depends on mechanical and body condition, the owners record keeping (even thogh you'll toss out the cx motor), plus overall market issues...
if you are lucky you can find one in good shape for $2000.
if your part of the world if chock full of other guys wantin' cx's... then yer **** outta luck... and will have to pay top dollar.
good luck, and smart choice

and at the same time, i wish i had a cx or vx hatch
2300+ lbs and my 220lb *** aint cuttin it
2300+ lbs and my 220lb *** aint cuttin it
Si = rear disc. Most people convert to rear disc on a CX
Si = vtec engine. Most people swap one way or the other....no point there
Si = clock, stereo, AC. What JDM ***** doesn't put in an EG6 clock, their own stereo (CD or MP3 player), and remove the AC, whether the car comes with it or not? Hell, if you can find one, people will even ADD a center console or armrest, technically making that aspect HEAVIER than an Si.
Si = sunroof. ok, unavoidable weight, but sunroofs are cool!
Si = more sound dampening. only worth like 20 lbs anyway, and it is not that tough to remove. Either way, the car is prolly getting stripped.
Si = black interior. How many people would conver to an Si interior instead of the vinyl blue CX crap?
I basically see NO point to selling an Si to get a CX. I would have traded you for my CX and walked away happy

I still don't see the point to a CX versus an Si... Only things that are different are usually just installed on a CX....

Re: my si is SOLD, buying a cx... (iTAKEthe5th)
ok, that makes a little more sense.
Although I find it odd, everyone on this thread seems to think the fact that it is a CX is better than the fact that you can now afford a swap.... I can see selling the Si in order to get a cheaper car to then swap a motor, but why is everyone going all wacko like CX!!! and I CX and CX Rocks! and ****....makes me think that they think a CX is a superior car. Sure, in bone stock trim it weighs less, but our cars rarly stay bone stock making it, in my opinion, splitting hairs. Maybe I am trying to stir up something here. I dunno.
Don't get me wrong. I have a CX. It was my intention to get a CX, but it was only because Si's are so rare and are usually too expensive.
