My sensor is telling me my car gets really hot
I have a 5 speed stickshift Honda Civic and my meter on the dashboard tells me my car gets pretty hot quick, I know how to drive stick and I doubt its my shifting. I just recently had issues with the VSS sensor being trippy so is there a possibility my car temp gauge is messed up too ? Please help me so I can fix it quick, thanks

It's doubtful. Check your coolant level and color, and do a system bleed. If that all checks out and doesn't solve the problem, test your thermostat. If that checks out, do a compression test.

Check:
radiator and it's core
hoses
thermostat
coolant level/color
engine oil cap
If you turn the car on, and let it idle until the temp starts to read above the mid-point, or showing sign's it's getting hot, feel the lower hose (the longer hose that extends from the radiator, over transmission over to the passenger side of the engine) if it doesn't feel hot, it's likely to be your thermostat, simply remove temporarily or immediately replace it + gasket + rtv or other sealant
If the engine oil cap has a spoiled milk substance, coolants mixing with your oil, possibly a blown headgasket.

My car had a stuck thermostat and id drive it for about 5 minutes and it would red line. But you will be able to tell if it's the thermostat. i had water boiling into steam. and if you pop you're hood and steam comes out and you here a tsssss sound. There's you're problem.
