My project Hatchie
Hey guys,
Today I got my project hatchback. A black 1993 civic cx hatch, no motor tranny stripped engine bay stripped interior, missing bumper hood and misc items. Otherwise no rust, no dents, pretty good shell to work with.
And i bought a wrecked 1995 civic ex ( hit a telephone pole right behind the drivers door pushing the back wheel basically up into the backseat behind the driver) I know it won't do justice without pictures. Anyway its got a 45,000 mile d16z6 papers to prove mileage. Headers, skunk2 coilovers, Dropzone struts, mugen strut bar, exhaust, 3,000 miles on clutch. And most of all good black fenders, hood and sideskirts. These are all to replace the CX body panels (half-sanded half-primer).
Basically I need a little bit of side notes before i can get swapping. I've heard 93 EG's came with a vtec wiring harness under the dash but not connected. If this is true what does the plug or wires look like because i have a mess of wire to be sorting through Obivously i have to use the EX's ecu for Vtec. I was wondering if anyone knew of anything to watch out for or any advice anyone's got. Any advantages of starting with a CX besides weight? Does the CX come with manual steering?
This car is basically being built up to drive becuase i can't pass emissions with my eclipse so i have to sell it in two months and i 've wanted a turbo D series hatch for a while now, just seems like the right oppurtunity. It helps that together both cars cost me $400. Please guys any info would be tremendous.

Re: (EG_Black_Hatch)
First off i would never use the suspension from a crashed car. Thats nuts. So count the suspension out.
The swap is pretty straight forward, but your wrong on the year. All 92 were prewired for VTEC which just means that in the harness it was wired up, so if you swapped ecu's then you would have access to VTEC if you had a VTEC motor and ecu without wiring.
I think thats it.
