My poor civic......

My poor civic......
SO I need to have my tie rod ends replaced so I took it to this place called Murphy's. I left my car there and walked home to eat some lunch and wait for them to get it done. I walked back down there to pick up my car. Apon walking up to the garage my car look kinda funny. I thought it might be dirt or a shoddow or something but this is what I found:
Altho the garage told me they are taking full responsiblity for it, the insurence guy told me some bad news. He said with the miles on the car and the fact that I was in to middle of fixing the rust spots on the other side, he was probly going to total the car. I just drop 2k into a b16a2 for it and not one month later it gets hit.
I was not in the car or at the place when it happened. They told me it was a Ford Explore that did it and they took off......
I should get about $5k alltogether.... I am going to buy myself a Hatch and drop the b16 into it....so I guess its not all that bad..
Just thought I would share my pain......

I am going to buy it back, for $100....
But I would rather get a hatch and drop the b16 into it... I am kinda board with the coupe anyways...plus I want to do everyhting the right way from the start... that way when its done I will have a nice, well built car.
I am going to try to copy this car, Its simple and it would be very easy to do:
But maybe diffrent rims......

If you replaced a quarter panel and repainted 1/2 to 3/4 of the car for $300, you're not an "everyday joe" like the poster probably is.
Go hammer your own damn self, *******.

You should buy the car back for $100, pull out the engine and put it in a hatch, put the engine that came out of the hatch into your coupe, and sell the coupe. This way, you'll make some money. Somebody would buy the coupe, since it is still 100% drivable.

Oh well, have fun with your new car! </TD></TR></TABLE>
Ouch, I hit a deer about 6 months back, and it caused nearly identical damage in the same place except drivers side, plus clipped off the left PM and destroyed the left front fender, so instead of turning it in to the insurance I started an involuntary self-study DIY course on body work & paint. .
Now I'm glad I did, cuz if your estimate is even in the ballpark, they would have totalled my car for sure too.
Sorry to see your bad luck, man, but look at the bright side: you get a new project for free, + you get a great parts donor car for 100 bones . It sucks for sure, but all things considered, it could have been a lot worse...
Good Luck!
