My new Neuspeed strut bar doesn't fit perfectly!
This is for my 1998 Honda EK civic. This Neuspeed bar, which is made specifically for my car, is pretty tight when I put it into the shock bolts. I heard some other guys with this bar also found it really tight for the EK or accord. Will the tightness of this bar when installed screw up my shocks/shock bolts or the bolt threads? or will it eventually improve the stiffness of my handling/suspension?
In order to make it fit straight on, the PUMP MOTOR RELAY black box gets in the way, so I unattached it from the silver clips. Is this OK??? Will the PUMP MOTOR RELAY box get screwed up or something if it is unattached? (should I just use some rubber band/tie straps to hold it to some wires/clips, so it stays in place?)
Here are some pictures:
Hope you guys can help me

The tightnesss won't mess up the threads, i have never heard of this happening and have taken my bar off and put it back on many times without any problems. As far as the bar goes, try to zip tie it to something or fabricate another bracket or bend your existing bracket. I just wouldn't leave it dangling like that. later

Yeah it should be tight as hell...that's kind of the purpose. Mine was so tight that I actually had to sit on it as I bolted it down. Ahhhh....good times. Good luck to you.

This is what someone said who had the same problem (from a search):
The neuspeed bar fits over the bolts, but then I have to use my strength to adjust the bar hands to fit in perfectly.
BTW, what does that PUMP MOTOR RELAY black box do anyways???
my neuspeed bar required a lot of pulling and tugging with the help of my friend pulling it from the other side. it was a tight fit, but the sharp turns i can make is worth the extra effort.
neuspeed make the strut bar tight so it will work better than those pivot type strut bars that are not good at all.

Umm... you have a 6g civic with ABS? Damn, the US got screwed over. I've only seen one 6g EX Sedan with ABS here in the states, it's got to be super rare. Yeah, I'm not sure Neuspeed designed the bar for an abs equipped 6g. it won't hurt to move the box. it just protects the relay for the abs pump. not a big deal. it would probly be a good idea to secure it to something so it doesn't flip around and possibly get water in it somehow, but don't worry a ton about it.

I thought all the US EK Civic EX coupes all have ABS? (I might be wrong)

i've got the same neuspeed bar on my EJ1. it was a bitch to install. after pulling and tugging at it for a while, i finally got it over a bolt or 2 and then i'd put a nut over it so it couldn't slip off. and for some reason, the nuts kept falling down a bit. made it harder than it should have been. but i was alone, and it was dark ;x
