Default My New Del Sol Build Thread

Hello,
So guys to start off, this is my second Honda that I have ever had and I have never had any issues (knock on wood) with them ever. My first was a 99 accord and I sadly had to sell her since I was going to college about 4.5 years ago. So, welcome my new 93 Del Sol S from Canada, Sunny! The gauges are in all KM, which apparently is very rare to see in the US and she is basically all in french(stickers for the targa top in the trunk and under the hood). She has a d15b7 YAY for mpg booo for speed . I got her with a bit of rust and stuff and I redid the whole body and did some rust removal and restoration.
HERE ARE PICS THE DAY I BOUGHT IT LAST THURSDAY:

i've got a sol too. i like em if you keep the D all you can really do to make it quick is boost. could do an engine swap if you feel up to it tho. fairly straight forward to do.

I'm sorry this is the first time I am hearing of anyone telling me I could boost the d15b7, (unless u missed the motor code) how much boost and what internals should I give to it so it wont blow on the road?
Cheers.

Nice man yea the white is legit man I've seen so many of em on H-T that are clean as hell and yea man not sure yet, I was thinking of driving the d-series in it until i get bored (which is soon already) then maybe a B, H2B,or K swap. I wasn't sure if i wanted this to be an auto-x/street or a drag/street car. That was gonna be a project that hopefully some people on here could give me some advice with haha
and yea i cannot wait for that red on black rims man.
Cheers.

so many possibilities. G23, k, b, awd, rwd, front engine, mid engine, boosted, na, take your pick. i did miss the engine code, but confused as to why you couldn't boost it?

Ok so in general, I was stuck between this idea for getting a b20/b18vtec head, H2B, or a G23. I have heard that a G23 is the most economical way of getting 200+ horse but, I also heard that even getting the parts together takes FOREVER and getting them to work is rough. As for the B20 vtec, ive heard people put out some sick torque numbers and basically drive around on highways pushing top speeds so easily yet, ive heard its not worth the time since it does not put such great numbers yet on the track, and its a fairly newish idea and lots of people don't like the idea (im still trying to figure out which I like better so dont judge yet). As for the H2B, its reliable, known, people have done it a million times, its great for a daily and drag car to go 14 and under easy and fairly cheap as well, getting the performance parts can be hard as H22 parts in general for performance are sparse compared that to a b or d series engine. Please help me here as I am probably incorrect in some assumptions here. I am new so please i need the help here haha.

G23 is probably the most economical you're right. easiest would probably be b20/vtec. I know of a H22 turbo kit locally if you'd be interested. 650. brand new. but still. there are so many options. just need to research each and determine how much power you're shooting for, how much you can spend, and how long the car can be off the road for.

Is an H22 in a sol like driveable for a sorta daily? I would prob just drive weekends and thats all. I'm only asking since the car is so tiny and that engine is sorta large and produces some great power that I would love to drive.

Put a turbo on it chip your P28 ECU drive it till you get tired of it or blow it up. In the meantime find a B18C1 have it built for boost. Swap it in after the D blows xfer your Turbo again rechip the P28. Have fun.

I haven't don't much research on that swap but i do believe that it should fit. check out www.hondaswap.com they have a TON of information on what swaps will work and what won't and how to do them and everything. It's helped me out a lot. Plus now they have H2B kits out so you can use a B trans on an H engine. Stuff like that. So much variety and ways to make your car your own.
