Default My Header Cracked...

I have a 98' Civic 4dr Lx.....I was about to paint my heat shield black today and discovered that my header cracked right up to the O2 sensor.

If I was to Upgrade to some DC headers.....I know its legal but what about the stock converter that sticks with the Stock Header. Don't I need that for SMOG or something?

technically yes, youll have to get a universal converter and put after the header before the exhaust piping.

This all depends on your state's regulations regarding catalytic converters. I those years the D16Y7 had the manifold mounted catalytic, while the Y8 had the catalytic converter under the car. If you ran your set up with the Dc header with one O2 sensor up top, then ran an D16Y8 cat (probably more than just this one would work) with an O2 sensor in it I wouldn't see why it wouldn't be legal. Good luck anyway you choose!
